    Description

    Presented is a fine set of 12 sterling silver forks made or retailed by Bigelow
    Brothers & Kennard Company.  The forks are done in the popular Olive
    pattern.  They are engraved “Gilbert” on the reverse. Bigelow Brothers &
    Kennard Company was in business between 1845 to approximately 1865.  These
    pieces were undoubtedly made between 1855 to 1865.
    The forks are hallmarked on the reverse with Bigelow Bros & Kennard and
    925 for sterling silver.
    The condition is excellent.  There is some rounding to the tines.  There are
    no dents, no dings, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
    The forks are 7 1/4 inches long.
    The weight is 655.9 grams or 23 ounces.
