Original Driver's License # 5041, issued the 4th of April, 1906, by the City of Chicago, Illinois. The driver is authorized to operate a gasoline-powered automobile. The license has been embossed "Office of Automobile Registry, City of Chicago." The license is on greyish green card stock. It measures 4" x 2-3/4". CONDITION: The printing and the handwriting are very legible, and the document is in good condition, especially for its age. The upper left corner and the upper right corner each has been mildly to moderately creased, and there is a 1/8" horizontal tear about midway down the left edge. The document probably was mounted into a book at some point because there are four scuff marks on the back, each approximately 1/2" x 1/2", one in each corner, where tape or adhesive was applied.
