1932 Poppy Elephant Christmas J.L. Hudson Department Store Children's Storybook. Originally from the Downtown Detroit, Michigan Department Store. This storybook/booklet was given to children when they visited Santa Claus with their wish list.  Still in good to very good condition for its age in that most of these were given to children. I don't think too many of these survived after December 25th! 12 pages in a little book that came from the J.L. Hudson 'Magical Christmas Toy Wonderland'. This tells the story of Poppy - The Elephant With the Red-Rimmed Eyes and how he found a new home on Christmas Eve.  A great piece of Detroit history and written exclusively for the J.L. Hudson Store in Detroit.  Being sold as found/as pictured as it does have some pencil writing found on the front and back covers. Not bad and easily removed if so desired.
