Description
CELEBRAMOS EL 26 DE JULIO. A lithograph celebrating both the Cuban Revolution and the Nicaraguan Revolution. On the litho the country name NICARAGUA is partially hidden by the face of Fidel Castro.Lithograph Poster 17.5 x 23 inches (44.5 x 58.5 cm).
Neither the Artist, Place, or Date is stated. The lithograph was acquired at a Berkeley estate sale some time ago. Possibly circa 1979, an important year in the NICARAGUAN SANDINISTA REVOLUTION. Possibly printed at Inkworks Press, Berkeley, an important radical press that was founded in 1974, was very active in the later 70s, and only recently closed its doors for ever. I have not, however, been able to find a copy of this particular lithograph in the Inkworks archives.
The lithograph is printed on white heavy stock paper, the colors are brown, orange, black and purple, it maintains a white border. There is a stylized image of the face and fist of Fidel Castro. The top of the litho poster has text in large stylized black and white letters: CELEBRAMOS EL 26 DE JULIO.
VERY GOOD condition, there is some light age toning to the white border; there are some corner tip creases and a few small edge scrapes; the lithograph was stored rolled and there are some light creases from having been thus stored.
The lithograph will be sent safely rolled in a sturdy mailing tube.
