Amongst the bravest protesters against the Vietnam War were federal employees who had the courage to speak up against the destruction that their employer, the federal government, was creating. The Federal Employees For Peace (FEP) was a Washington DC area group created by a small number of federal workers. In a short time the organization grew to several hundred. Members were known to distribute leaflets outside their workplace during lunch breaks. When demonstrations occurred in Washington, FEP members would wear their pinback buttons to show solidarity with the demonstrators. This support did not come without a great cost however. The FBI regularly employed to actively target the group and harass its members. Many members were fired by the government without cause and later blacklisted so they could not find meaningful employment again. Measures 1 1/2" inches in diameter
