Inspiring farewell note written by Japanese American prisoners to a fellow internee at Camp Amache (Internment Camp), Colorado. Circa 1943. Reads "Best Wishes" followed by the names of the internees at the camp. Very uplifting. Note the distinctive penmanship of all the Japanese American signers!
Measures approx. 10 1/2" x 7" inches. Perfect for framing and display.
FYI:
Over 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry were forced into interment camps
after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. The vast majority of them were American citizens. None had been convicted of any crimes and there incarceration was justified simply because of their Japanese heritage.
