NOS General Motors GM Purchasing Flag Set Buick Pontiac Olds Chevy Cadillac EMD

Years ago I worked in the Purchasing Department at GM's Locomotive Division. As such, we were considered part of GM's Worldwide Purchasing, commonly referred to a WWP. We attended classes in Detroit and I also had the opportunity to present an RFQ at all the major commodity tables for a new locomotive we were building.
This piece was considered a desk display for only the top WWP Purchasing executives. It was not given to anyone below the Director level. They made very few of these and I don't imagine that there are any NOS ones left. I can remember one of these sitting in the Director's office at Electro-Motive but none of the managers had one.
I am uncertain of the age on this but I'll hazard a guess at the 1990's as that's when I was in EMD's Purchasing Department.
There are 34 holes in the walnut base but only 33 flags. I'm guessing that they left one open for a future country.
