    Description

    Rare Original Vintage Poster By Edward S. Curtis Glad Day Press.  Image depicts a North American Indian Woman in traditional leather dress with braided hair holding a bunch of rushes. On the lower left side is a quote from Lame Deer "
    We must all see ourselves as part of this Earth..."
    The only mention we can find of this rare poster is in the Oakland Museum of California Collections page which shows image of Poster with inscription along the bottom including a seal "from International Workers of the World I.U. 450 Glad Day Press", and the text:  "The photo is by Curtis, entitled The Rush Gatherer - Arikara. The Quote is from the book, Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions. This poster is one of a series available on heavy poster paper. Akwesasne Notes, Mohawk Nation, via Rooseveltown, New York."
    The poster offered here has been cut and the original inscription is missing.
    Glad Day Press was founded in Ithaca, New York as a spin-off from the local peace center. Although their initial priority was opposing the war in Viet Nam,t hey produced materials for a wide range of issues including Cuba solidarity, Native American occupations, and support for liberation movements in Southern Africa.
