BIOGRAPHY:
There was a split within the Students For A Democratic Society (SDS) at their 1969 convention in Chicago between members of the Progressive Labor Party and the national leadership of the SDS led by Bernardine Dohrn. Dohrn and m
ost of the national SDS leadership walked out of the convention and quickly formed the Radical Youth Movement which was a breakaway faction that espoused a more radical approach to achieving the groups goals. This pinback button
distributed by RYM members disparages the SDS by equating the group with fascism and openly displaying RYM's radical approach towards there opponents. It was at this time that Dohrn and RYM members simultaneously formed the Weather Underground Organization - a clandestine military wing of the organization.
