For anyone who grew up in Chicago or was just a visitor, Marshall Field’s Christmas windows were a requirement of the holiday season. Uncle Mistletoe and Aunt Holly often appeared in the windows. Ah….memories! (Plus lunch in the Walnut Room with the Great Tree!)
Uncle Mistletoe and Aunt Holly merchandise is hard to come by as many collectors don’t want to give up these items as they are filled with memories.
Holly can be seen on Uncle Mistletoe's scarf. Aunt Holly has some holly on her skirt and encircling the bun in her hair. Upon turning the pair around, one can see Uncle Mistletoe's wings.
Uncle Mistletoe was created in 1946. Aunt Holly came in 1948. He was a character that Marshall Field's created for selling merchandise and he became a beloved character throughout the years. Sadly, Marshall Field's no longer exists the stores were bought up by Macy's. Unfortunately the couple are no longer used as the Good Will Ambassadors of Santa Claus.
Pre-owned by a collector. They are old and have been in storage. While the candles, themselves, are not damaged, due to age, some of the exterior paint has rubbed off. Please see photos, thank you. These candles have NOT been burned/used.
