DESCRIPTION
This is a Security Auto-Theft Signal System iron boot (wheel shackle) dating to the late teens or 1920s.
It would have been placed on a spoked wheel of a Model T or similar vehicle to prevent it from being stolen. The lock retains a little of its original red paint, its brass identification tag and the original key turns the lock which appears to be operating properly. "B1" model number is stamped into the inside of the piece and the brass tag indicates the piece was made by Security Manufacturing Company successors to the Miller-Chapman Company.
A great addition to your antique automobile or lock collection. It would also make the perfect housewarming or birthday gift.
MEASUREMENTS
Lock measures 9.25" long by 4.5" wide by 1.5" deep and weigh 3lbs 5oz.
CONDITION
This security lock is in good functional condition with some small signs of age and use - (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
