Description

General Motors brass Ash Tray. Cast copper or bronze. 4” diameter x ½” tall. Front shows a head-on view of a 1937 Buick automobile, tree to the right and mountainside to the left. Below the car in the roadbed is “GENERAL MOTORS” with “WHO SERVES PROGRESS” above in the rim, and “SERVES AMERICA” below. The bottom of this ashtray is blackened patina and has a cast label; “DESIGNED AND PRODUCED BY TERNSTEDT DIV. GENERAL MOTORS COMPANY”
